Ephesians 2:8-9
Yes! We are not saved by works (law obedience) because we are spiritually incapable. Therefore, we are actually saved by faith!
But faith in what?
That Christ is the forgiver of sins, and that’s it? That just as long as you try “your” hardest to obey and ask the Lord to forgive you every time you screw up, you’re good and have faith you’re on the path to heaven?
Well, I’m sorry to inform you, but you’re wrong and entirely missing the point and reason for Christ on the Cross! You don’t know what saving faith actually is. Because the devil has been lying to the world for decades regarding true and saving faith!
True and saving faith is actually believing Christ died on the cross to cleanse you of your sin. Actually believing your sin is keeping God distant. Actually believing your inability to not keep God’s commands is going to send you to hell. And that should scare you to death of “yourself.” And cause you to actually drop to your knees and virtually, passionately surrender. It means to repent. To ask for forgiveness with sincere sorrow and remorse. To change your mind about sin and what it’s doing to you and your eternal soul. Sacrifice yourself to Christ. Surrender your self-seeking pleasure, your self-seeking prosperity in this materialistic world, your self-seeking security, and your self-belief that you are Christian because you study the Bible, “think” you understand it, and go to church on Sundays.
Because what it actually boils down to is spiritual discernment, aka acknowledging who has been at your control panel since birth. Surrender your life to Christ, who is spiritually alive and wants you to know him. Therefore, allowing him to manifest (show himself to you) within you. Take over your control panel and allow you to discern his actual spiritual indwelling. Acknowledge his living power, wisdom, and voice… AKA KNOW HIM! Realizing it is HIS righteousness within you that makes you obedient.
THAT is true and saving faith!
THAT is being saved by faith, NOT by works!
THAT is being REBORN and on the right path!
